Film ini memperlihatkan bahwa salah satu hal yang paling sulit dalam kehidupan adalah untuk menerima kehilangan seseorang yang sangat dekat.
Cerita ini membutuhkan keahlian besar dari seorang direktur dan para aktor. "Rabbit Hole" dalam mencakup segi cerita, tapi melonjak pada arti sebuah kehilangan yang cukup mendalam.

Sudah delapan bulan sejak Becca (Nicole Kidman) dan Howie (Aaron Eckhart) telah kehilangan selama empat tahun  anak mereka yang bernama Danny karena kecelakaan mobil aneh. Meskipun hal-hal yang tampak normal kelihatannya akan tetapi tidak satu pun dari mereka telah menerima itu. Sementara Becca mundur ke shell dan menolak untuk bersosialisasi atau berbicara normal dengan siapa pun, sedangkan sering Howie melihat video dari anaknya untuk mengurangi kesedihan. Becca gelisah dengan kehamilan adik Izzy (Tammy Blanchard) dan ibu Nat (Dianne Wiest).

Meskipun mereka berupaya akan tetapi tetap saja tidak dapat menghilangkan kesedihan tersebut dan selalu membandingkan dengan hilangnya anaknya sendiri yang ujung-ujungnya hanya membuat marah Becca. Meskipun tingkahnya menegangkan dan jahat dengan semua orang, ada satu-satunya orang yang bisa bercakap normal dengannya yaitu Jason, yang telah menyebabkan kecelakaan yang menewaskan anaknya.

Kecemerlangan cerita ini dinyatakan dengan klise pada saat-saat tenang dan menahan sikap dari masing-masing pelakunya.
Nicole Kidman unggul dalam menangkap rasa sakit yang menggerogoti melalui ketenangan, tentunya Nominasi Oscar baginya sangat sempurna.
Aaron Eckhart juga melebihi dirinya sebagai suami yang mencoba untuk menenangkan diri - hilangnya seorang putra dan seorang istri yang tidak bersedia untuk membuka atau memulai sesuatu yang baru. 

"Rabbit Hole", berdasarkan pemenang hadiah Pulitzer dimainkan oleh David Lindsay Abaire yang juga penulis skenario, mengambil intipan tulus ke dalam kehampaan yang merujuk orang akan segera menemukan diri mereka dalam mencoba mengatasi kerugian murah hati. Dan pesan dari film ini adalah selalu mungkin ada cahaya di ujung terowongan, karena meskipun sakit mungkin tidak pergi akan tetapi kita masih bisa hidup, di sisi lain  Howie menemukan bahwa sesuatu yang baru harus dimulai untuk bisa hidup dengan rasa sakit, Dengan demikian tidak ada resolusi keras pada akhirnya, tetapi sinar kecil harapan pada akhir lubang kelinci membuat film dapat jujur ​​dan jauh lebih menarik.

Dalam kebanyakan kasus jika film adaptasi video game merupakan petualangan itu berarti menempa cerita baru untuk dirinya sendiri bukan menyalin satu lalu diletakkan dalam permainan video.
Seri Resident Evil adalah contoh utama ini, termasuk protagonis yang bahkan tidak ada dalam permainan waralaba. Dalam Prince of Persia, karakter yang serupa, Dagger of Time masih ada, tapi cerita ini benar-benar terpisah dari permainan.

Seperti saya katakan ketika sebuah cerita yang berbeda  digunakan maka saat itulah sebuah adaptasi video game memiliki kesempatan terbesar dalam segi keberhasilan.
Tidak mencoba untuk menyalin sesuatu yang penggemar sudah sangat akrab dengan itu yang berarti bahwa ketika itu muncul di layar lebar maka korelasi langsung dan perbandingan tidak muncul segera.Sebaliknya penggemar sering diberikan sesuatu yang segar, sedangkan non-fans diberikan sesuatu yang mungkin menarik perhatian mereka untuk ingin mencoba game tanpa merasa seperti mereka mengenang sebuah cerita yang sekarang mereka saksikan di layar lebar.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time memerlukan beberapa unsur-unsur asing dari game dan menempatkan mereka ke dalam cerita yang terpisah yang diperuntukan untuk menjaga hal-hal baru, sementara yang menghibur untuk para penggemarnya adalah gameplay akrobatik dari permainan dan mengubahnya menjadi menyenangkan sebagai film aksi akrobatik. Pada dasarnya hal ini berfungsi sebagai alasan bagi kita untuk melihat Pangeran Dastan melompat dari atap ke atap, swing mudah ditempatkan di tepian kayu, bangunan memanjat dan melawan dengan pedang.  alasan seperti ini di mana plot adalah latar belakang untuk sekelompok adegan aksi itulah sebabnya saya tidak berpikir mendalam tentang benar-benar pentingnya ketika datang film seperti ini. Ini adalah film action melulu dan orang akan ingin menonton untuk adegan aksinya, bukan untuk pengembangan karakter atau plot besar [Adegan-adegan aksi yang cukup menyenangkan untuk menonton]. Ada beberapa urutan parkour menghibur, beberapa perkelahian pedang menarik, dan ... sebenarnya itu saja. Kedua hal menempati hampir semua waktu adegan aksi, menyimpan untuk membuka "badai benteng" bagian yang sebenarnya akhirnya menjadi puncak dari film ini.

Saya mempunyai dua masalah dengan urutan tindakan di Prince of Persia. Yang pertama adalah masalah dengan film secara keseluruhan dalam hal mondar-mandir yang agak rusak. Jika terasa terlalu lama dengan bagian besar lambat dekat dengan bagian tengah yang bisa telah diperpendek. Masalah kedua yaitu adanya gerak lambat yang kadang-kadang hal ini membuat benda terlihat mengesankan, tetapi ada beberapa gerak-lambat tembakan di mana tidak ada banyak gunanya untuk itu. Ada saat-saat ketika bahkan tidak ada tindakan apapun yang terjadi tetapi gerak lambat diterapkan pula.
